Punta Mujeres is a nice reef break that breaks on volcanic rock. There is a left and a right to surf, the right is super short with the left being a much longer ride. Best to surf on or around mid tide, try and avoid low tide as it gets super shallow and will wreck your board or your body.
Works on both north and south swells.
The break is just north of the town so head straight for Punta de las Mujeres. You cant miss it, just before you turn left at the fuel station, if its on you will see it breaking from the road to the right of a row of houses.
The Island is not that big, you can find places to stay in Punta Mujeres but most stay in Famara, well us surfers any way.
Theres loads of parking all the way along the road there, locals are pretty cool so dont worry too much about having your windows smashed or anything like that, this is Lanzarote, not Tenerife!
Famara has most of the surf shops on the island, with a few at costa teguise (windsurfers) and there a cool shop near the round about in san bartolome
