Wide sandy/pebbly beach below huge cliffs (el Risco). Good for beginners to intermediate surfers. Good surf all year round.
Get super blown out for about 65% of the time but always has a ride-able wave, however if you hit it right you can get some really nice lefts and rights here. Locals do not bother you at all, the vibe is pretty chilled. Most surfers here live in caleta de famara and no doubt you will see them during the night having a beer at one of the local bars.
Busy 'ish during the summer and it does get windy, so bring a wind break if you are planning on sun bathing, other wise you will end up a sand man.
Car or via one of Famara's surf schools, if you book with them some will come and get you from your hotel and drop you back at the end of the day.
Famara has around 20-30 apartments that are always being rented out, simply go to one of the surf shops on the main street and ask. You can expect to pay anything from £12 a night for a shared room or £40 per night for your own place/apartment. Prices here are very good and if you ask there are deals to be done.
Lots of parking but it does get busy quickly. Also dont be tempted to park on the side of the road in the sand, as you will not get out and look a bit silly when your asking to be pushed out.
Lots, just take a walk.
