Average beach break on the south side of the Banks Peninsular. Suitable for surfers of all standards. Doesn't get too big but can provide a nice powerful wave on a larger swell. Worth a look if Magnet is busy or not very good.
Needs a southerly swell to reach the beach, offshore in a northerly. It's quite well protected from the wind.
Generally pretty much empty on a week day.
Head from Christchurch towards Akaroa. Take a right onto Kinloch and head up over the hill. Take the turn onto Te Oka Bay road and follow it round. There are several waves around here so if you see something from the road it's worth taking a look at.
Nowhere around apart from free camping.
Ample free parking.
