The D’Bah Super Session - Magic Queensland Sandbar Action, With Superkid Dane Henry

Description

“Probably the best session of my life.”

Dane Henry is from Fingal Head, just across the Tweed River from Duranbah Beach. “I’ve been surfing since I was three years old,” he says. “My Dad pushing me into foamies. That means I’ve been surfing 15 years, which is pretty cool to say.” He’s right! Dane started surfing Duranbah at around 10 years old, and has great memories of surfing it in a grommet pack under the eye of coach Gary Cruickshank. “It’s such a good spot for everyone,” he says. “Beginners, experts, it’s the best spot on the Gold Coast in my opinion.”

Maybe his D-Bah water time and still-supergrom status explains some of why this kid became the lightning-quick star of the February wall sessions. But there’s other reasons too. Watch and listen above as the articulate Dane walks us through some of the best off the cuff air performances of the year so far — anywhere.
