When certain waves offer up such an array of delicious tastes — it’s hard to be partial...
What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream? Maybe you’re a vanilla bean traditionalist. Or, maybe Rocky Road’s your jam. You can’t really say one is better than the other because, well: preference.
After the well-over 31 flavors of incredible waves featured in the Maps To Nowhere series, we attempted to whittle the tastiest ones down to 10. It was tough. The thing about surfing perfect waves with no one else around is: You end up catching A LOT of memorable waves.
Some of us, for example, couldn’t get enough of Soli Bailey searching for the mysto deep peak up the reef so he could properly backdoor two heavy stand-up sections, as opposed to just one.
Others of the screw-footed ilk preferred the bathwater-blue growers that Brett Barley and Ian Crane weaved through in Episode 1, before punctuating a kickout with a giant forehand hack.
Some loved the flavor of Jordy Smith’s double-arm stalls at those dark empty peaks in Episode 3, and others loved a couple of the “waves of their life” moments that went down in one or two of the eps.
Listen, we’ll just let you decide. Speaking of…have you ever been to a Baskin-Robbins on the 31st day of a month? It’s a vibe.
Now watch the 10 Best Waves from M2N.
