Mindlessly Pumping Desert Point

A few things have become obvious over this (very good) season in Indonesia. Travel to (and within) surfers’ favorite island chain is still very difficult due to Covid restrictions. (Meaning if you’re there, you’re stoked. If you’re not there, you’re probably just dreaming.) Locals still rule, especially at tight lineups like Padang Padang. A couple visitors have stood out — Nic Von Rupp, for one, who did a mission from Kandui to Greenbush during the peak of the swell earlier this week, which we’ll be rolling out in a couple days. And Bruno Santos, whose flawless tube style is evidenced above in some of the best Desert Point seen in years.
