Emma Wood is a pretty good beach because it is usually not that crowded and it has decent to good surf. Breaks both left and right and on good days you will have no trouble catching as many waves as you want without anybody getting in your way. On big days, the reef breaks which is out further and requires a longer paddle. But most days the surf breaks closer and has a sandy bottom.
