Neoprene Wetsuit Boots...Good or bad idea?

Postby Stevieboy » Wed Apr 11, 2007 3:42 pm

Hi all,

This is probably a dumb question so please dont flame me.....but does anyone use these? Are they a good thing to use or do they make surfing more awkward? Why do some have a split toe? Is it just a comfort thing?

Thanks all,

Stevieboy.

I wear them, keep my feet toasty warm and make it easier to walk down to the beach.

Booties are great for winter surfing. I like the split toe with a bridge, prevents the leash from getting stuck between your toes during critical take offs. I would say booties increase my water time and comfort level by at least 1/2. Well worth the $45 you would have to spend on a good pair.

I love mine.....I almost feel like putting them on to walk around the house....

Get them fitting real good, too loose and they can come off because they weigh a ton and they're colder, too tight and you'll be uncomfortable.

Time to lose the booties over here! Water's up to 55 or 60

if its cold enough then wear them. its definately worth getting a good pair though. also make sure they fit right. they do flesh all if theyre too big and fill up with water.

Booties are great. If you have a pair that's slightly too big, the toes fill up with water.

When you get out, you can take them off and put your hands in them to warm them up again. The water in them is really warm!! :o
