Moon tonight

Postby el_timmo » Thu Sep 07, 2006 8:38 pm

Did anyone see the moon tonight just at dusk? It was absolutely beautiful. It was a big, full orange mass. Wish I had a camera to take pictures of it! I saw the man in the moon too, but I didn't look for too long cause I think he was getting changed.

I shall respond with my artiste's eye ... " the stratosphere clouds lay gently over the blood orange hue .. i sat motionless so as not to disturb mother nature at her easel. A swift stroke was made that created 3 fleeting lower level clouds, they moved swiftly off of the canvas as if in recognition of the golden beauty that lay in the background.. she truly deserved all attention and needed to be the emotional and visual focus point of this particular calm mystic painting ....

.. yes indeed it was a beautiful moon tonight mstr.Timstar

made evn better by the red tinge to my slightly blood shot eyez :D :P :D

Because of this partial eclipse last night that Tim saw, and a full moon tonight, there's a load of flood warnings over cornwall because there's gonna be unusually high tides tonight. And when i was at the beach earlier, the sand was wet right up high, i thought it was odd. And now we know why. The sea is gonna come over the harbour walls and they're getting concerned in St Ives because the sea is gonna come right over the street, its just really really lucky its flat at the moment.

So well spotted Timmo, it is actually a strange old moon at the moment

i dont think there will be to much to worry about its only if theres strong winds that could cause a storm surge but going by the forcast the next few days id say its unlikley to happen

yep theres been a lot of talk about that here too, if there was surf then we might have some waves coming onto the prom at aberavon but with the current flat situation i doubt itll be a problem

I try to make it to the beach every chance I get during the full moons to take pics. Working nights make it tough at times thou.

This is probably my favorite shot I've got so far. I left the shutter open for 15 seconds to get the star burst effect.

I was down the beach Wednesday when the moon was coming out to play. Huge gorgeous orange ball. Was stunning to paddle away from it and then just literally have it in yer face coming back in. Was pretty cloudy too and every so often youd see it just 'nestled' by clouds. Lovely night.
