Crappy Sky service

Postby .Jen. » Tue Jun 13, 2006 10:05 pm

Ive just been on the phone to a Sky Digital techie about my sky boxes - neither of them are receiving channels, therefore missed out on not only last weeks episode of Lost which I fell asleep through, but also this weeks new episode.

So... on the phone to they guy, going through everything. He then decides that theres nothing more can be done over the phone and logs the call for a warranty call out (got my new Sky Plus box and dish receiver thingy in November so its still got guarantee on it).

The soonest appointment they have for an engineer to come is June 23rd. Ten days away. Ten days with NO telly at all.

The local Sky engineer lives not even 5 minutes away from me, and judging by the amount of time his van is outside his house for, he doesnt do alot of work.

Why the fleshin' does it take 10 days for someone to come and fit a new bit to my sky dish? My fleshin' dog could do it in half the time (although she cant be trusted with electronics, so im not asking her).

fleshin' well narked off. Unless you have Sky or Cable over here, you dont get ANY terrestrial channels, so I've now got absolutely no television for 10 days, and cant record anything and theres loads of stuff I was planning on watching/recording over the next couple of weeks.

Have to admit im more narked about missing Lost - get even half an hour behind and it leaves you stumped for weeks, im gonna be fleshin' missing three weeks worth!!

**edit** Oh my fleshin' god - just thought of something else!! The World Cup!! Im gonna miss the next two games, which I had to cancel two shifts at work for! Everyone I know has either no interest in it, or wont be home. fleshin'!!!!

10 days without tv sounds like heaven.
phone them up and refuse to pay your subscription for the 10 days and demand compo (free channels, month free etc. - there customer services have the ability to give stuff like that to calm down irate cutomers) but dont get too ratty with the guys on the phone, or theyll get pissed off and wont give you anything, just be firm but reasonable.
As for lost, ive seen all the second series and you wont miss much, i heard theyre planning to drag it out for 9 series before they explain anything. Just download the episode you missed off bittorrent or something.
And the world cup? i can tell you what youll miss there, some foreign guys kicking a ball around a bit and occasionally kissing each other or falling over pretending to be injured, no great loss :P

lol ta for that GC.

10 days without telly would be heaven if I had something else to do. Im on really strange shifts at work at the mo, so spending alot of time at home.

Still havent been cleared by physio to start strenuous exercise yet :( . Was hoping to get the all clear last week but no such joy yet.

Lost... got a mate sending me episodes 7-12 on DVD tomorrow, so that should keep me entertained over the weekend. As for the footie, going into work to hog the drivers lounge for the Holland match on friday.

Im gonna phone the engineer tomorrow (today!!) to see if he can come any earlier. His van was parked outside his house when I left for work today, when I came home to get something and when I finished work... must be really busy

Think I might have a go at finishing off the bathroom. Started decorating it in December but then got distracted with work. Got a load of tiles to go up so might be making a bit of noise today.

My mums gonna phone Sky up/ write a letter when they get back from holiday. Found out that they also grossly overcharged us for last months subscription - £112 as opposed to the usual £35 (or whatever it is). We dont bother with any of the box office channels or anything so the overcharge makes no sense at all
