Big Waves Surfing...

Postby baldie » Wed Feb 08, 2006 2:44 am

I would like to try surfing in Heleiwa, Oahu.
I have a 7'O height, 19" wide & 2.5" thick hybrid surfboard. Is it good for surfing in a 10 to 15 foot waves (hawaiian scale)???
What type & size of surfboards are good for bigger waves??

Wel...is that board a gun..or a hybrid shortboard..kinda hard to tell.

But I suggest a gun around 7'. Something big and pointy always has more speed!!!!!

I heard hawaii is hitting it off recently...wat size waves are you getting?

Thats a good point. If you have never surfed "Big Waves" before, then jumping on a board, with 20ft waves, wont be such a happy ending! You ned to leard and advance on gradually bigger waves.

consider the argument started. If u don't have anything nice to say, don't say it @ all. This site need more pics. I know the pics are not prolific. So go ahead & one up me. Post a pictures of you surfing better waves. THEN YOU CAN TALK KOOK. you'll find it's not that easy to get a photographer & all the gear together etc. etc. I'm just having fun & adding color to this otherwise lifeless site. It needs photos.... this is the INTERNET not some paperback novel you tool.

If real, you want to surf 10-15 ft. swell and you are not sure of the type of board to surf it with? Tell me, what is it you surf now?

I have been surfing on Diamond Head, South Shore, Oahu. I went up to Haleiwa last week surfing 5 to 8 foot waves. It was pretty cool...

Trying not to argue.. :? !, but anywys, that sounds awesome baldie, I am no expert in big wave surfing, but I would say that if you are surfing 8foot, then 10 wont be that much bigger. Trying just working up on it.

Also those pics dont seem to look like dc nockda, cos in other pics..he has a different surboard?!! But maybe rents or he has more than 1?

lol.... retard a real surfer has more than one board. I own an 8 foot keel fin, a 6'6" Becker (Yellow w/ Red Fin), There's 9'8" Midget Smith (pictured...but Ity delammed last year) a 9 foot Terry Senate (Orange) a 10'0" Isle )white an 11 foot Mickey Munoz (Wood Venir) & a custom Terry Senate 11 footer (RED) that was probably the last Clark Foam 11 footer to be shaped.... it was glassed about 10 days ago & completed & those are the 1st photos I ever had taken of me riding my less than 2 week old custom. Dont be jealous I'm a hard working colege grad who paid his dues & has more than one board DORK. IN FACT I AM GOING TO POST A PIC OF ME WITH EVERY BOARD I OWN ON THIS THREAD YOU fleshin' KOOK. L8

Here are several pictures of my Main board TOOL. Would u like to see reciepts for each one ??? Would that make u feel better??? Don't ever try to authenticate me Barney. Save up some dough by a board move to the beach & surf instead of questioning if some one is "Renting" there boards.... sounds like something you'd do u freakin' DORK, don't u have anything better to do?? Oh wait u can't surf & nobody will take pictures of you wiping out all the time & u don't have a Zoom lense & you are probably just a sad guy w/ no board & a computer who borrows or "rents" because he sucks....lol Peace out loser. Look for those pics of all my boards & next time shut the hell up.
