Any boarders with tinnitus? How do you prevent this getting worse?

There are different causes for tinnitus. If you also have surfers ear then you need to contact a doctor if you have not already. I am not sure about the other causes of tinnitus.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Yeah, I’ve had tinnitus for a couple of years now. Surfing itself doesn’t seem to make it worse for me, but I try to avoid cold water hitting my ears directly. I use SurfEars plugs and they help a lot with both ear protection and keeping the wind noise down. Staying hydrated and getting enough rest also seems to help manage flare-ups. Curious to hear what others are doing too.
