Cutback help

Postby idkanymore » Thu Apr 13, 2023 5:24 am

I have currently surfed for exactly a year now, I weigh 110 pounds and surf a 5’5 23 liter swallow tail. I have been currently trying to cut backing and frontside turning but I need help on expanding my turns and make the better. Please help

Questions:

1) What were you surfing on BEFORE you got your current 5'5" ?

2) What is the fin set and fin type you are using on that 5'5" ?

3) What do you FEEL is wrong with your cutbacks ? Since I'm not clear what you mean by you wanting to expand your turns and make better, can you be more specific in the goal(s) you want to attain.

4) How's your backside cutbacks and backside bottom turns ?

I think he is offering the video to show where he is at. It seems like what he needs to work on is positioning and wave selection because for the most part he isn't on any waves in a position that would allow a dynamic cutback
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
