Surfing for beginner in Portugal - May

Hello,

I'm looking for a good spot in Portugal to learn surfing in May. Can you give maybe some tips which location suits best for beginners and maybe some information about what to check in regards of choosing the best course/spot? I plan to go for one one/two weeks.

I wanted to go somewhere near Porto because of direct flight there but I'm not sure if this region is suitable for beginners. Most of the sites recommend the region near Lisbon. Maybe you have different experiences and know good place near Porto to learn surfing?

Hi Adik91 , it’s a beginning enjoy!
Matosinhos is the beach where there are quite few surf schools, there are some catering for nglish and others for German speakers.
Have a browse some have a backing of accommodation There are also some with International qualified surf instructor,
the way recommend you look is check reviews by previous clients of similar age to you on the packages offered, do that off the advertising of the website!
