Gaviota: The End of Southern California (full movie, begins 19m – Watch on LARGE screen)
It’s on-line and with a bonus!
The tremendous hallmark film is preceded by a:
1) Brief intro that introduces Gaviota rancher Guner Trautam at 1m 30s.
2) 12-minute film about the economic, political, social, pressure bearing down on the Gaviota coast agriculture. The short film, “Lost Ground,” features rancher, Guner Tautrim beginning at 4m 13s. He is well-known in the Santa Barbara region and many of us have helped him with plantings and construction. Guner is hones, sincere, and father to a lovely family.
Nearly every location and most of the wildlife you will see in this beautiful film, is regularly enjoyed by me (and with Roxy Ridegback for many past years). The Gaviota Coast is a most precious ecological and accessible natural resource. The film, which required more than 5 years to create, presents it in accurate justice.
If you recognize, but cannot place the narrator’s voice, know it is John Kay from the late1960’s to early 1970’s rock band, Steppenwolf.
