Surfing Algarve

Postby Narmakil » Fri Aug 27, 2021 4:03 pm

Hello Everyone! Just planning, at the end of September, to visit some of the cities near Faro. Some surf schools are saying that the waves gonna be between 3-6ft and the others are saying that only 75% of the time gonna be flat. Have anyone of you been there in September and can share his experience? Cheers Stan.

Like 90% of the spot in the world. It's hit and miss. But Algarve is generally very small.

Depends what you mean by 'near Faro'. The beaches around Faro will be mostly flat. If you head 1hr30m west, there will be waves everyday.

There's spots with good waves but many of them are a bit off. Good if you rent a car so you can explore more of the remote areas. Can for example go southwest from Faro and follow the coastline to the west.

If you got the time.

I would need more info about how long you stay, if you intend to join any surfing schools, etc, to guide you better.
