Inflatable surfboard/ Paddleboard for surfing

Postby Sebvandort » Wed Apr 28, 2021 1:19 pm

Hi All,

I am thinking about buying a paddleboard, but was wondering if there are any inflatable surfboard or hybrid boards (e.g. paddleboards you can use for surfing)?

The background is that I live in Bristol and take the kids down to Devon and Cornwall but occasionally struggle from a portability view, and often time when we get down there the wave aren't there! As such an inflatable surfboard or hybrid paddleboard would be ideal.

Any tips or advice, tips, experiences or links to boards are very much appreciated.

These are the brands that I would research for inflatables that could do dual flat day and surf.
Naish, good Hawaiian based brand, JP out of Australia but popular in Europe, Fanatic based in Europe.
There are cheaper varieties everywhere even some supermarket chains at about half the price with about half life in usage!

A serious question can you already surf? a non aware non skilled SUP rider is a serious surf danger! Inflation cuts the risk a little.
Talk a little more about where your thinking is.
Help is at hand!

Longboards are usually about 22 inches wide. Bigger ones might get 23 to even 24 inches wide which is really hard to sit on and to paddle because you start to scrape you forearm / biceps on the stroke.

Stand Up Paddle boards tend to be 32 + inches wide. Even the performance oriented SUP's are 29 inches wide.

So question is do you ( and you kids ) have overly long wing spans ?

If not, see if you can get this 8'2" Body Glove inflatable surfboard.

Good commercial. I almost want to get one LOL
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
