Explain to me what Tom Curren is riding

Can someone please explain to me what Tom Curren is riding ? Not the white board in the cover photo, but later on it has a blue deck ( and very short ).

At first I thought it was a typical skim board, but at 2:25 you can see a fin.

I remember seeing something about that board on a skim boarding flick. I think I watch just about anything ocean related..

I think it’s a skimboard that he put fins on. Must be hard to catch waves with although in Naeco78 video he does a board transfer to catch a wave
