Disagree about what ? Your point is for the OP to gain more speed, right ? Well if his engine isn't pointed down the run way he can't take off properly. The plane needs to take off first THEN bank at an angle. Angling in ( stalling the tail, grabbing rail ) is more an advanced maneuver for someone just beginning. ( especially at a dumping beach break )
You need three things to catch a wave, Power, Position and Timing. But if one is weak you need to be strong in the other two. So if you don't have Power ( speed ) then you need to have better Position and Timing. You elated to Timing of when to be where the wave reaches you but I am concerned that beginners utilizing the "angle-in" technique, will make matters worse if they already have a weak paddle.
So here, no speed and no paddle. Wingnut doesn't angle in, he actually angles OUT and does a fade left go right.
