Started surfing in late 20s and never looked back

Postby suhrrenity » Sun Dec 09, 2018 9:19 pm

I live in SoCal and had my first lesson in Hawaii. Have been hooked ever since and have enjoyed introducing my friends and coworkers to surfing for the past 6-7 years. If you're interested in surfing and need some additional tips, please check out my blog since part of it is dedicated to this awesome sport. It's never too late to start.

Welcome and nice blog. Oh how I wish I'm living in SoCal. I'm willing to take a paycut to live there.

Thank you and appreciate that you checked out the blog. Yes, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. Did you live in SoCal temporarily?

It's like my second home. I go there for 2-3 weeks every year just to surf. There are many other forum members here that lives and surf in SoCal. I visit one of them very regularly. Which break do you mostly surf at?

Just an unusual historical note that many people would have no awareness of.
“ I can jump puddles” was a book by Alan Marshall about his being infected with Polio and his physical, and mental journey to,overcome the viral, disease. Thanks to vaccination it has been eliminated in the western world, the older among us may remember contemporaries in calipers or iron lungs.
I‘m advertising here, your local,Rotary Club will be supportingncampaigns to finally eliminate polio in the very third world countries by vaccination , even in a war zone
Have a look, make up your own point of view, if it says yes see if you can donate, Rotary International sees more of your donation hit the ground to achieve a Result!

Oh that's good to hear you get to enjoy SoCal's sunshine from time to time. I'll head typically head out to Santa Monica or Dana Point. I did try Malibu once but witnessed several arguments between people about 2-3 foot waves so I've never been back. Also enjoyed Bolsa Chica a few times.

Super cool website, cool career choice too. It sounds quite rewarding. It's always nice to see more women hitting the waves.

Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback. It's great that you have a surf camp to share your passion for the sport! I've taken dozens of lessons and really respect instructors who are genuinely motivational and patient with their students. I hope everything was ok for you in Indonesia from the recent tsunami.
