My house is doing the hula lol. Police have closed a section of Pohoiki Rd due to spreading cracks and have since just placed a metal plate over it. This will put a damper on surf sessions if it goes the way they are expecting it

My brother is in Mountainveiw. It's a shaking quaking away and the plume of ash that just came up is alarming but more alarming is the level of lava has decreased very much over the last day.....must be going somewhere.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

Yea we’re ok. Everyone is on edge here as it could easily break out here...Leilani is just a mile over and this whole area is littered with underground lava tubes. The last flow stopped a mile from the house. New eruptions overnight put the warning sirens to use at 2am...so not much sleep. Taking the day off to regroup

Hope you and your family stay safe and well, and your home and all things remain intact.

The community in the next town up the coast from Merimbula ,lost over 100 homes in recent bushfires, the community spirit in recovering is amazing, hope you can have spirit without the loses!

Thanks Jaffa. The Aloha here is pretty amazing here when things happen like this. Already up to 30 homes destroyed since Friday and doesn’t look like it’s going to let up anytime soon.

Pele about to pop her top. Looks like surfing will have to take a back seat for the next few weeks. Next closest spot is Honoli’i in Hilo and too long of a trek away from the home if things were to develop quickly as they say is more probable than possible. All beach parks closed in south Puna. Uhg!!

Eerie view from my driveway tonight ..it’s pretty close. I never knew it could be so loud. Much louder than the coqui frogs tonight lol

Had a couple weeks in North Devon over Christmas New year, really enjoying the festive surf.

It was really great conditions and a huge swell today and I caught this photo with my junk iPhone camera The waves looked to be bigger than double overhead triple at least and some maybe bigger but the light was fading and this smaller wave was the best pic I could get. Unfortunately I couldn't surf because I was at work all day long

I didn't surf this weekend due to ongoing shoulder problems so I decided to try to take some photos while I had some time to do so. I am fairly sure I need to find another camera because this one just too difficult. but here goes with what I got The fist pic is outside Horners and the second is the sandbar break in the middle

New to the area and taking surfing back up now that I live back by the beach again.
I surf from the Cross at Pcola, and everything between Destin.

Welcome! I did not know there's surf in the Gulf. Looks a bit choppy but seems like fun surf! I was going to visit Destin.
