With Oregon coast buoy reports reaching as high as 62' on Jan 18th...visitors, and locals alike lined the coastline in hopes of witnessing the huge waves crashing into the shore. It was an incredible display of the ocean's power! Storm watchers hoping to witness the huge surf were not disappointed! Some of the locals claimed it was the biggest surf they had ever seen.
It was an unbelievable experience to witness that much power and awesomeness! Waves crashing into the rocks and sending seawater and spray high into the sky and over Highway 101. It was not a good day to be surfing. Even the legendarily Nelscott Reef was too crazy for surfing. Another reef (ghost reef) outside of Nelscott Reef started to break and was completely out of control. This video gives a small glimpse of what we all witnessed. Hope you enjoy it!
