That poor turtle is obviously severely ill and going to die anyway.
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

This is a poor example of the function that sharks serve. Needed a bigger hungrier shark but they remove the sick or injured individuals and this helps to keep the rest of them healthy

It is getting to the point now that in terms of word association, when I hear “shark” I think “BaNZ”..... :). BaNZ, you spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about the man in the gray suit.....you like in NYC for chrissakes....better chances of getting bit on the subway than in the ocean!

More sharks get eaten by people than people eaten by sharks!

Do you have morbid fear of automobilesBaNZ? they can get you on any street corner.

I have a few phobia which was a result of watching horrow movies when I was too young. Mainly Jaws, some old spider movie that I don't remember the name. Also a seagull one but Im not scared of them.

I once jumped off my bicycle into oncoming traffic while I was riding at full speed because I saw a fat Butt spider near the handlebar.

When I surf in crystal clear water. You will also see me looking out for sharks or seals. Whenever my feet touches some unknown object in the water it also gives me a panic attack. Yet I still surf haha.

They say sharks don't like to eat humans because we're too crunchy. Seals, on the other hand, have a creamy center that sharks prefer. That thought gave me comfort until I saw this.

BANZ,
i took my 15 year old niece (from Germany) and her class mate that lives across the street out to Santa Cruz Island on the other side of the Santa Barbara Channel. We went out there today on Sunday to snorkel. Do you know what these two 15 year old girls wanted to see more than anything? They wanted to see a shark!

Sharks don't have x-ray vision to seek out humans on kayaks... or lack of humans in this case. Unless they like crunchy shell with creamy center like peanut butter filled pretzels :)

Sharks often use chomp and tell method!

All jokes aside, that kayak must have looked like a seal carcass to a shark. I noticed that the shark didn't pursue the kayaker in water

I would have loved to see you the other day when there were THOUSANDS of jellyfish in the water!! It was so gross... they didn't sting but they were squishy and you felt them when you paddled. I had a couple stick to my face too. That was fun.

Yes and it is floating sideways and not swimming well. They can swim very fast if they are healthy. But this one probably has gas trapped under it's shell and can't dive.

Jaffa you probably know what these things were - they're clear big ice cube looking jellyfish - felt like I was paddling through bubble tea. No tentacles, didn't sting... someone said they are jellyfish babies? All I know is that I couldn't hang knowing they were stuck in my hair and on my face. It gave me the heebeejeebees.

:(

I wonder if it was even aware it was fending off a shark? That must have exhausted the poor thing.
