New Surfer West Wales, UK

Hey folks!
I used to surf maybe 10 years ago in california when I was a kid, on a longboard. A friend convinced me to buy a board (short board, just to have a new challenge), now that I live in west wales (lampeter way), but I am at a lost of where are there good spots and what conditions should I look out for. like if I wanted to surf in say Borth, or aberaeron, what weather is good weather ? I'm definitely a beginner, and learning on a short board will be a bit difficult. But any advice (on anything really) is greatly appreciated, or if anyone wants to meet up and laugh at a new beginner falling off waves, im sure itll be great :)

Langland is always a good spot. Around the corner from Mumbles. Freshwater west if you want some consistent swell. Langland needs a good swell, hour after low tide is good fun.
