Postby MiguelPires » Thu Jun 09, 2016 11:12 am

Hi there!
My name is Miguel and I'm a surfer from Portugal near by Ericeira, a small village that as been nominated as a World Surfing Reserve... Everyone says that is the California, but without Sharks :D
36 years old and i started surfing 15 years ago... I'm used to surf only with Shortboards, 5.11 x 18 5/8 x 2 5/16 27L, that's my all around board from 1ft to 6ft.

Probably i will moving from Portugal to the US, more likely to Thousand Oaks California and is crucial that i can surf almost every day.

I will search for topics related to California and then probably post my concerns. my god Sharks :ninja:

I leave you with a photo of my home break... a part of me will stay there for sure :(

If anyone, need info about Portugal Surf Spots, just let me know... Fantastic country for surfing all year!!!

Best

Miguel

Welcome Miguel , don't worry too much about the sharks in California not many of our Californian crew have been eaten by sharks! The Australians and South Africans are leading that comp at the moment.
Your Portuguese speaking friends in Brazil have an area where you are not allowed to surf because of the shark risk!
The freeways in California are more dangerous than most of the beaches. BUt take note of the area they call the red triangle, and try not to look like a seal!

Most of all have a great time!
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷

Aloha Migel. I just have to ask if you are related to the famous pro surfer Tiago? Either way welcome to the forum
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.
