Morro Bay Shark Chomp

Look at the bite in this long board! This occurred on Saturday at Morro Bay, California. The location is about 100 miles north of my home and about 100 miles south of the California Red Triangle. The surfer is named Elinor Dempsey. Elinor was not injured. At first, she thought there was a dolphin below her board. Then it came at her and bit her board while she jumped off into the water. Her disappointment predominantly rests with not having caught any waves on Saturday.

Yeah....you pretty much have to paddle in and call it a day after that.....

Glad it's a story that can be twisted to funny rather than a tragedy.

Or at least get another board :(
So what is worse.... dying or regretting it for the rest of my life? Obviously I chose not regretting it.

That bite almost looks too perfect to be true..

Poor shark. All that fiberglass and foam can't be good for its digestion. Surf rider where are you when we need you.

Her disappointment predominantly rests with not having caught any waves on Saturday.

Typical surfers response. If only she'd brought along some solarez, she could've patched up that ding and gone back out.

On December 12th, a surfer recorded the moment he came face-to-face with a great white shark off the San Francisco coastline with a GoPro. 30 miles north in Bolinas I have never seen one but I occasionally get the creeps when alone and outside.
