Help mtngirl get to be a surfergirl

I'm not doing things in the right order but at least I am doing them. We lived in Colorado, bought a surfboard, 8'6 Hobie, we bought a house in Sebastian and now I need to surf! I am 45 and have surfed many years ago but I have not surfed for probably 20 years. I just remember the feeling I had paddling out there in the ocean and playing on a fun cruising wave. I do not need 5 foot waves, I prefer cruisers that will not destroy me when I have to paddle back out. I have no idea how to make longboard friends who just want to get out and there. Are there any groups or meetups other than taking a lesson? I am not one to post an ad on Craigslist to find a friend but I will post one here
