Hi NevrdoWhatheydo.

Please excuse my ignorance, why would you have 3 different boards of such similar dimensions?

Good question. While the dimensions are similar, each design serves a different purpose in my eyes.

I got the Mini Driver first to be my daily driver. Then I got the Couch Potato for groveling--it's my longboard alternative. For my ability level and what I surf, these two would be enough.

I really only got the Buzz because I fell in love with the design--described widely as a skateboard on water. It covers the same range as the Mini Driver. I choose between the two depending on if the conditions are clean or choppy. I like the extra length and volume of the PU/PE Mini Driver when it's a little rougher--paddling is easier. If it's cleaner, I grab the EPS Buzz. Though, to be honest, the Buzz is a little bit much for my skill level right now.

That being said, I'm a neophyte when it comes to surfboard design. I'm pretty new to surfing and j just trying to figure it all out.

Cool thanks. I'm pretty new too, learning many things from this forum!!
I could tell the difference in shape between the Driver and the Couch Potato

LOL just realized this board was made in 1986 so it's probably older than some of you.

Finally my first board and custom made! decided for a 6 6 retro fish shape after trying a friends 6 2 retro and having a great time with it. I currently have it with a thruster setup because the quad makes the board incredibly fast which led me to call it "The fish harpoon" and i just cant handle it with that setup yet, the thruster is still fast but a lot more easier to handle. Of course the quad looks a lot better for the pictures!

Thanks much, i almost drove the shaper crazy while trying to decide on a colour style but it turned out well in the end! :)

Bad news is that its almost winter so it will see little use for at least two months :(

Lets see:
9'6" Pig
6'8'' kind of 80's style swallowtail, for bigger waves (mini-gun?)
6'4'' Hollow wooden single fin.
6'3'' big wide rounded tail in the style of a McCoy Nugget.
5'10'' Mini Simmons (shaped from what was left of a smashed 7'6'' mini-mal)
...all self-made! :)

Hi guys

I just picked up this one yesterday- although not brand new, it's new enough and i got it for a bargain :woot:
I was hoping for something in between my 6'2 fish ( on the left, which is now sold) and my 6'3 anderson which I love but just getting a bit sick of its lack of paddle ability and high rocker when the waves aren't steep. Ideally I will probably get rid of the anderson as well if this board turns out to be great.
The 6'2 fish is 6'2 x 20 1/2 x 2 1/2
The 6'3 Anderson is 6'3 x 19 1/2 x 2 1/2

I came across the below Barron 6'0 x 19 x 2 1/2 board. It seems to sit pretty well between a slightly fuller outline but still with peformance surfing in mind and a medium rocker that can still take the sometimes steep and hollow waves we get here.
It's also got a quad fin configuration which I was really wanting on smaller days. It's got a decent single concave through the board with a double concave through the back fins.

I've never tried a board with a rounded pin before but can't wait to give it a jam!

Any thoughts on what it will be like?

Hello all! I'm on custom 7'6 Zuma Jay minimal. Been surfing for about 8 weeks, progressed onto angled takeoffs.

Surf in South Wales.

6.6" NSP Fish. Might be too small as I'm a beginner, but I'm trying! Tried surfing for the first time back home in the Lofoten Islands Norway. Currently in Sri Lanka trying to surf in the weekends (doing an internship in Colombo).

Did you notice the temperature difference?
real answer= if you feel the board is too small, it probably is, if you are renting the board, and can change, go bigger both in length and volume :!:

Yeah, the issue is that I bought it brand new here and so it's difficult to change it. I used a 7.2 NSP Fun previously and thought a fat 6.6 fish might be a good board to progress on. I don't know, I can pop up on it and ride a wave, but not always like I want it. We'll see now that the season has kicked off.

And yeah, the temp is noticeable! Dropping the suit is nice :)
