Making my finless "lord board"

Postby Grombomb » Wed Jan 01, 2014 11:39 pm

Hey guys, Im new to the forum, I am building a lord board. http://hydrodynamica.com/totem/lord-board.php

I know that these lord boards are made from marko i-foam waterproof foam. I'm thinking if I surf just the blank on its own without any reinforcement, it probably won't last long, and will start to chip away, and fall apart, like you can see happening in the pictures...

If I decide to glass it, It will be quite expesive. I'm just wondering if there might be a way to strengthen the board without having to do a full-out glassing. I know I could spread a q-cell/chopped glass resin mix over the blank and harden its surface that way. Is that going to be enough?

-Thanks, Grombomb

How much are these things. But as far as strengthening, yeah you could go over it with some solarez they sell it in bulk and urges not unheard of to use it add a sealing layer on wooden boards.

They don't actually sell it, this is just an invention of the shaping group hydrodynamica. If you want to make one you will have to do the same thing as i am you must order some marko i-foam blanks. Then strengthen it of coarse.
