Bristol newbie looking for guidance

Postby lorez » Tue Jun 11, 2013 8:30 pm

Hi 42 yr old newbie, I've had the odd lesson & session over the last couple of years as well as had an interest in surfing for many more but this year I want to make a real effort at it. Based in Bristol means my nearest spot is at least an hour away (although never surfed porthcawl, I'll be there in a couple of weeks).

Reason: Changed title to clarify Bristol and not Brisbane!

Hi lorez, welcome to Surfing Waves!

There's plenty of waves within easy reach from Bristol and many of those are suitable for beginners. Try to steer away from the crowds, and try to get in as much as possible. Let us know how you go, and post any questions you've got.

Hey Lorez, might see you in the surf at Porthcawl. Hopefully will be heading there on Sunday, if the weather doesn't take a turn (and before you ask, no it's not the rain, just when the winds are onshore, porthcawl can be a mess lol)
