Hi from landlocked London!

Postby Qasiel » Fri Jan 18, 2013 11:21 am

Hey all!

Currently living in London (hoping to make a move to Cornwall in the next few years), so I don't get in the surf anywhere as much as I'd like. Been bodyboarding since I was 8 and finally took up surfing about 3 years ago, making many trips to Cornwall's Newquay and Perranporth beaches taking lessons and such. Currently riding an 8' custom minimal and totall loving it when I get the time to make a trip.
I absolutely love all aspects of surfing and can't wait to do it a lot more full-time. Hopefully, being surrounded by like-minded individuals here I'll be inspired to make even more trips to the seaside!

Catch y'all later!

Hey Q,

Welcome to SW.
I used to be in the same landlocked boat, living in london and making the trip down the A303 as often as I could, but now I live here

If you're a hardy soul and dont mind the cold, you can surf brighton, bracklesham, wittering and bournemouth in winter so it makes a day trip from london possible 8)

But, yes. Move

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Cheers for the advice, drowning. I don't mind the cold at all, so I think visiting them is definitely on the cards!

And yep, I totally intend to move. The sooner, the better!

Yeah, I once lived 1 to 3 hours from surf breaks in Northern California. After a few years, we moved to the Central Coast. Now, one of my favorite breaks is 4 miles away from my home and another favorite break is 10 miles. I really hope for you, Qasiel, that you can achieve this, too.
