what's the point?

ok, I have a funboard now but I think ima buy a retro fish.. cause the waves im at arent too big, and i heard theyre lightning fast and i want speed...

question:
whats the point of having a huge quiver? If i get a fish.. thatll setlle the small waves, than a shortboard for when it gets big, and a semigun for the really big ones (i wont need a semi gun because the waves never get even close to 10 feet )

So should I sell the funboard when I get a new board? I dont see where the funboard would come in, all the other boards are meant for certain waves.. is a funboard just meant for learning on? Also, should i keep it because its my first board so i should always keep it, or sell it and get an even nicer fish? thanx

keep it for sentimentallness if its nice. i sold my first two boards because they were bics and i needed dosh for a real board. im never selling the board i have now. if you have to sell an old board to fund a new one - i say do it. :D
good luck!

Keep the funboard, expand your quiver! :D

There are a couple of billion types of wave/weather/break combinations and the funboard will often work when the others dont.

Ive got a fish, a mal, and a shortboard, but there are still days when the funboard comes out - lots of them in fact.

Last weekend - too big for the fish, not clean enough for the shortboard, not a long enough ride for the mal, so the funboard was the perfect compromise. Caught some good waves too! :D

watch one of Joel Tudors films or watch Sprout.
A quiver of boards is not just about which board suits which wave best - it's also about what sort of mood are you in? What sort of vibe do you want.

I would keep the funboard and here's why:

One day you will meet someone who's always wanted to give surfing a go and you won't want to lend them any of your other boards.

or.

one day you'll have kids and they will want to learn, better if you've already got the board I say!!
