Hello surfpatrol, the term 'abuse' I can understand, and have tried to avoid it on this thread. As far as 'flaming' goes . . discussing almost any subject which is in any way controversial can be construed as flaming . . I mean sometimes we adults have a meeting of minds which involves disagreement or an 'argument'.That's life!
I am a believer in communication, and think that if a discussion can be conducted without actual personal abuse then it is all good . . even if there is disagreement.

If you feel that your forum is an inappropriate place for the kind of surfboard design discussion which we are having on this thread then please let me know and I will post elsewhere . .

. . I was kind of hoping that the level of interest which these subjects generate amongst dedicated surfers would balance out the occasional outbursts of emotion which occur when old assumptions are questioned and discussed . . .

but it's over to you, it's your party.

People might not agree with what others post but this does not justify abuse directed towards other individuals. I am all for healthy discussion, disagreement is going to happen and I do not have a problem with that.
If anyone has a disagreement and cannot communicate this without a personal attack they are on the wrong forum.
Everyone knows the rules - and if not take a moment to read them.

This is exactly the place I want to see such a discussion - discussion not slanging. Let's carry on with it.

I was trying to think of something good about noseriding . . . and the only thing which I could think of was that a front facing stance can feel good, it's symmetrical and gives a good view.

Other than that it's a dead duck of a pursuit IMO.

I'll beat it to another thread now 'cos I don't belong here really (not being a noserider)

So long and thanks.

:D

If I'm onto a goodish little wave & I've got some speed up I can get 5 toes over on my 5'10" skip fry fish...but it has got a big broad 15.5" nose.
Only for a couple of secs however. It's real fun.
