Firstly, apologies Rico. That image should have been attributed to you when it was added to the article. This has now done this.
The images were added to the
Uluwatu surf spot information page, and were added attributed to you on the surf gallery pages:
https://surfing-waves.com/waves/pic2 ... u-view.htmhttps://surfing-waves.com/waves/pic2855_ulluwatu.htmWhere user generated content, images or video posted to the site is re-used elsewhere on the site, (such as the Indonesia article) it is normal practice to acknowledge the source.
You can see this on the Indonesia page for Jaffa's Indo tips, where the article links back to his original post.
You can also see the image sources attributed on a couple of example pages:
https://surfing-waves.com/surf-fitne ... -downs.htmhttps://surfing-waves.com/news/story ... asters.htmThis was not done for your image on the Indonesia atlas page, and it should have been. This is my mistake and once again I apologise.
The policy on uploaded content was previously specified on the terms of service, but having looked I could not find it. I'm unsure when it was removed, but this information should definately be there. It seems to have gone missing at some point. I will update the TOS to make the policy clear.
This site's policy is that by posting on Surfing Waves you grant a soft licence to use your content. This allows us to freely use the content on the site. The copyright of any content remains with the original poster (as long as they actually own the copyright).
Sources should be attributed where content is used at all times.
Images / content can be removed at the request of the copyright holder.
It's common courtesy that the owner should be asked if it's ok to use their content elsewhere. This is done when using external content, and should really be done when re-using internal user generated content. I will be doing this in future.
I hope that clears things up Rico. If you'd like your images removed from the main site I am happy to do so.
