Thought I'd come by and say hi having finally set up an account. Long time surfer, beach bum and walker of the Worlds biggest eared dog. Love nothing more than fishing for breakfast, repairing my boat all day and surfing by moonshine... just a shame life sometimes gets in the way of doing all those things every day! Still can't complain as spend most waking hours near or on the beach.

Hi everyone,

I'm from Finland but currently live in Auckland, NZ. I recently got my university studies finished and my next goal is to learn to surf. I'm rather fit in general but a beginner when it comes to water sports so I'm expecting this to be quite a challenge.

This site and the forums are hugely informative and I've already learned a lot just by reading while at work, hehe.

I spent a few days after christmas up north in Taupo Bay getting beaten up by the surf with a bodyboard and I feel I would have had a way better idea of what to do had I come to this site first. Luckily the beach was quite empty so I wasn't screwing up anyone's day, I had no clue of wave priorities or anything.

Nice to meet you all, I'll go through the forums and start asking stupid questions only after doing that, eh?
