Hi all, Im from Newport south wales

Im new to surfing! Had my first go yesterday at Newgale Beach west wales. I hired a board to see if I liked it? and I loved it!

I was out there for 3 hours I managed to get on my knees no prob and up on one knee and one foot loads of times, but only managed to get up on both feet once for a few seconds! am I a poor begginer? you tell me please?

I didnt realise how fit you had to be for this sport! It was hard work getting out there which then took seconds to be washed back in ha! I woke up this morning aching like ive never ached before!

Well im now looking for a second hand board to start on.

A bit rude of me Sorry I've been posting for a while now but haven't introduced myself.
I've been surfing over 50 years in Australia, I'm nobody famous. Grew up at Dee Why and Now reside in the deep cold south of New South Wales.
I financed my surf addiction by working for 30 years as a Chiropractor and Osteopath ( Osteopath has a slightly different meaning in Australia to USA)
I'm now retired and surfing more and making surf videos and doing photography
I'm a goofy footer and make lots of surfaris to Indonesia and the Pacific Islands.
Ride both long and short boards and a mat.

I hope everyone gets as much from surfing as I have a picture of me at a local spot.
