Oct/Nov get consistent surf..Water is usually semi-cold.... Usually, a big surf comes once in a while(like 1 big surf once in 2-3 week). And yes you will need a car, since there are so many different surf spot you would want to experience. You can't live without a car in cali, that's a proven fact . My recommendation for surf spot is san onofre, trestles, santa monica, HB(crowd could be a problem), and OB. Good luck on your trip! :surfing:

nice one cheers man, was thinking of leaving my wettie at home but think i may as well bring it along, extra padding for my boards in the planes i guess?
can't live without a car huh? think i might hire a van then live in it for my time there, kill 2 birds with one stone and all that.
i know there's loadsa breaks but wasn't sure how far apart they are.
not worried about crowds, when there's waves everyone wants them and it's the ones who fight (not physically) that get them. battle for plenty over here.
i should be welcomed with open arms, haha.

Post Your Quiver

Postby Surf Hound » Thu Mar 18, 2010 7:14 pm

Hey guys, I ride both long and short boards but prefer short. However, I tend to grab my longboard more just because its less work in the water ( i am 40 years old). Anyways, I always look at other guys boards and try to relate how I could use that board or if I could surf it etc.... I was just curious what deminsions you guys are and what the demisnsion of your boards are. I am 6'1" weigh 240lbs and ride a 10' longboard and my short is an 8'4" Ben Aipa Stinger. I know, not that short but when you are my size you have limits to what you can use. What are yours ?

Upload your quiver Pics

Postby isaluteyou » Thu Mar 18, 2010 7:40 pm

A new topic - been done before, but might wanna dust off the cobwebs, as im sure your quivers have changed somewhat.

I am 6ft and weigh in at a whopping 145lb. The following are my main boards i use. All custom shaped by Greg Sauritch to suit the way i ride and waves i surf - i have a few more boards but they never get used and are pretty much loaners.

My quiver has deffo changed over the years to suit the waves i ride. The only thing im missing is a step-up something for really macking days but that is on the agenda.

Post yours up and what you wanna add to it :D

You can probably get away with a smaller board pretty easy just as long as it floats you thats fine. 8'4 as your smallest board is probably too big. Im sure you could surf something a hella lot smaller even if you are primarily a longboarder its always good to have some diversity
