Repainting/Restoring Epoxy 7'6" Hybrid advice....

What's up all....I am new here and just started surfing again after being off a board for almost 9 years. I am so stoked to be back in the water!!!!

Ok...I'm confused. I have been doing some research and getting so many different ways, techniques, do's/dont's, must's, must not's, etc etc....It's making me nuts! I know this isn"t rocket science.

I have an older 7'6" Stretch custom epoxy hybrid twinzer (sandwich construction) that I want to strip down and repaint. There is a semi-large paint chip spot on the rail that is beginning to peel away little by little. It's not down to the foam, so from what I can tell, there is no water getting in. The board seems to be water tight.

All I want to know are the steps in painting the entire board. With a car, you knock out the dents, putty up the holes, sand it, and then paint. I'm pretty sure it's the same idea.

Is there anybody that can point me in the right direction or help me out with the steps?? What tools I need, paint, supplies, etc I have looked online, but again, to many cooks in the kitchen.

This is all new to me, so I want to make sure I do it right. Thought it would be a fun project, but now it's just getting frustrating. I also plan to create my own deck design. That part to me is easy and fun, it's the prepping up to that point that is confusing.

Dude its really as simple as you think! Just prep any dings you have with sandpaper, removing any loose paint etc. and stick some Epoxy resin http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Solarez-Fiberfill ... 575wt_1167 in there and sand to shape!

Now sand the entire board with fairly course sandpaper something like 60 grit making sure all wax and dirt is removed and giving the paint something to key too!

Than get crazy with your design!
Dont forget to stick a clear lacquer on top off your paint to protect your art!
