Sleep Walking!

Postby libby » Sat Nov 15, 2008 8:55 am

OK so i've never EVER done any crazy sleep walking in my life before but last night changed all that :?

I was admittedly quite tipsy but i was fine, went to bed in my bed, woke up at some point in my lovely (female) housemates bed.

Apparently i just walked into her room in the middle of the night, told her to move over and then stole the duvet! About 5 mins later I woke up not having a clue what had happened

Hilarious as it is, at the time it was really unnerving! Eeeeeeek! Apparently my dad used to do the hoovering naked in his sleep :o

Anyone done any crazy sleepwalking?

Im a sporadic sleepwalker - or maybe I only notice the ones that end 'eventfully'

In my time Ive jumped down a flight of stairs and then slept on the doormat where I landed, and Ive searched through my dad's study throwing stuff all over the place (that was embarassing).

Most recently, I was panicking that I couldnt get out of the camper van, and I couldnt get the door open, and I was screaming that I couldnt get out... this was most likely because I was trying to open a wall in the bedroom

Always makes you panic a bit when you wake up mid-sleepwalk (hence the dont wake sleepwalkers up thing) but I can usually laugh about it afterwards.

I used to do it when I was a kid, now it only happens when I've had a few drinks.

Similar to Libby I woke up next to my ex-girlfriends male flat mate when I was totally starters, (he never knew a thing).

I've woken up in the shower on a number of occasions half dressed.

Recently I woke up in an Austrian hotel room in the middle of the night standing in my boxershorts with a bloke yelling at me to get out. I ran out into a pitch black corridor and panicked! I never went to breakfast that whole week in case I got recognised!

I've also made phone calls to people when I've been asleep.

I've taken a leak in the airing cupboard on more than one occasion thinking its the toilet - but alcohol was involved.

I have constant problems sleep wise. I've been found in stairwells, phone boxes and the back seat of my car (and NOT in the shagging sense lol).

People can have conversations with me when I'm asleep too - if anyone wants to try and catch me out lying, they just have to ask me when I'm asleep cos I always tell the truth lol.

yep, but you already know that story.

Adam once woke me up mid sleepwalk i was so freaked out that I had been wandering around the house completely starkers that I ended up in tears - dont wake up sleepwalkers folks. When Im stressed I talk in my sleep in some unrecognisable language - sounds like something out of the exorcist apparently.

My other half has sleep peed in various places in the house, when I challenge him about his behaviour (whilst he's asleep) he speaks to me like IM the one being unreasonable. My lodger sleep walks around our house with fair regularity and I found him at 3am going through a tool box I left in my study.
It happens to loads of people Libby so dont worry too much - alcohol is nearly always involved but I find its usually coupled with stress.

At least once a week I'll wake up in some field in the middle of nowhere, with no clothes on, blood all over my hands and mouth, and a half-eaten deer next to me. Weird huh?

Yep, normal weeing in the wrong place when drunk. But also got in bed with my mother in law once. I was naked at the time and apparently, "happy" to see her.
