Slow loading and over-zealous spambot detector

Postby drowningbitbybit » Wed Apr 04, 2007 6:58 am

Dunno about everyone else, but although the loading has been fixed (I dont get the phbb error, or whatever it was, anymore) its very very slow. Pages often get hung up while loading - presumably they'd make it eventually but Ive normally wandered off by then.... :?

AND the spambot detector keeps getting me on 'too many searches'. If I load up 'posts since last visit', read a thread, then go back to the pslv, it wont let me as Im making another search too quickly. 'Course, I can wait for a bit and try again, but it makes browsing a bit tricky.

I am not a spambot, I am a free man!!

I get that one too, I have a short term memory issue and end up reading the same thread over again if i dont get to refresh  I realise after a while but its a mild annoyance.

Dont get the other things you said though - you must just be a dodgy character

Maybe you should be upgraded to mod status so that maybe the system would ignore numerous search requests.

I have changed the times between searches so you should not have this problem (and did the time between posts also)

As for the slow loading of pages I am not seeing this and I am on the other side of the world from where the forum is based - anyone else having problems.
