the answer lies in strategically waiting till it is possible to even start to paddle

run like a crazy mofo towards green water

paddle like a crazy mofo to beat any breaking waves

not pretty but with strength and luck on your side you can get out!

Duck dive a minimal??? what ya tryin to do??? have her suit get riped off  hell she might be able to just start the stick under when the force nails her and she might just come up in her B-day suit or even worse might have the timing off and get some board in the face OUCH!!! Turtle it. In design the shape of the stick will get pushed down as long as she holds on and keeps the nose dug in a little more upsidedown or paddle like a monster and shoot the lip hell get next to her and push her over unless your like me and just wanna see her surf nude LOL na jus kiddn duck the shorts and side rail/turtle the longs. I'm 5-6 170 and stong as hell and have a tough tough time sinking that much foam,,, not worth the fight I'll roll it or hall azz over the top.

I am probably way too late for this post, but here is what I did because I could not get my epoxy mini tank to duck dive since it floats like a cork. For small white wash, of course paddle hard into it and when you get to it, push down the front and lift your chest over the white wash. For larger waves and no one will probably agree with this but it worked for me, I bail off the wave spin the board towards shore and grab the fat velcro part of the leash (not too close or the board will bust up your knuckles). I then sit down under the wave and pull the back end of the board down with me. After the turbulance passes, I spin the board back around pop back up on it and continue paddling. This does not get you out there as fast as being able to duck dive, but faster than failing to make the duck dive and getting the washing machine treatment and better than just bailing off your board and letting the wave take it bashing others and breaking leashes.

we had around five six foot on set on the weekend im 19 and quite small and im duckdiving my 9"2 log just by having my shoulde so close to the nose on the the dive and i think recovery and instant paddling away when surfacing helps, on my 7"6 which is generally used for bigger days drops in the same method easier than the mal obviously i think lpractising techniques might be the way forward dude
