If you could live on any desert island in the world...

Hey guys
Im considering taking a year out of school and just going to live on an island, like completely in the wild. Ive been looking into it for awhile but am struggling to find WARM places that don't suffer from the following:

Malaria or other severe disease
Sharks or another severe natural hazard
Crap waves or waves which are far to gnarly to surf without nearby medical treatment.

So please, whats your suggestions? Id love to hear them.

The best place ive come up with so far is around Fiji.

Good luck finding somewere in Fiji like that which hasn't had a surf camp or 5 star resort built on it.

Try Tonga, Samoa, or one of the smaller Cook Islands.

If you've got the coin for a surf camp, have a look at Namotu Island.

i think a lot of islands that are pretty much deserted have many reef breaks although there are bound to be some with sand. this means that you may be better off just hitting somewhere with the same climate and good waves with a mix of beach and reefs (that are empty) and have a hospital near by.

If people know about it it probably isn't deserted and if it's deserted I wouldn't expect much in the way of medical treatment. In high school I used to read a lot of maps trying to figure out a potential break like that. Vavua looked kind of interesting potenetial wise but I have no idea if it would pan out.

Pick a country, and travel the coast - Aus, NZ, North Africa for starters. You could easily get away from it all and score great waves. Ireland and France/Spain/Portugal would be cool as well.
