What courier to use?

Hey,
Just about to sell my board on ebay.
Just want to hear what ppl have to say about couriers... or rater which one to use. Good and cheap. Preferable with some insurance on there :)
Please don't just whine about bad companies... hehe that would be to easy..

I really need some names of companies.
I have read the scare story you linked to.
Again there is not even a name on which company he used.
Anyone have any experience in sending boards? If so please write the name of the company you can recommend...

hey...i would strongly advise not using interparcel they were the ones who ruined my board. But then again i have used them loads of times before and they were fine, i was just very unlucky that the driver who was taking my board had a real fleshin' problem and threw my board out of the truck.

Most courier companies should be ok with them, just make sure you pay the extra couple quid for insurance and when they come to pick it up tell them its a surf board and thats its fragile!

Ideally i would say avoid getting it couriered because there was so much damage done to my board, but thats not always practical.

greyhound...cheapest shipping you will ever buy. i see the major ones charging 90 to 100 bucks for shipping and i only had to pay 50 bucks for a 6'0 board to be shipping across the country.

nightfreight did a bit of damage to my new board in transit so id be wary of them.

The problem is any courier can be bad or good it just depends on the drivers. I've had both good and bad experiences with nightfreight as they deliver my blanks to me.
Just be sure to get the item covered and make sure the person recieving it knows they have to check it BEFORE signing for it.

yep i'd go with what KiteS' said :wink: ... its all down to the driver at the time .. just make sure you state that the parcel has to be checked before letting the driver dissapear or you customer will not be able to claim if it is damaged .

I use ANC express for our shop as the guys seem to care a little more than the rest mainly due to the fact that they are local to me and they want a good local trading reputation :wink: ..a big courier like TNT doesnt care because the yare national/global and a bad local rep wont really do them any harm ... so i guess im saying " use a local courier "
