Awesome lefts and right. works best with a ENE swell and light tradewinds.
North swells will light this place up, but E trades that blow side-offshore at North Beach on the other side of the peninsula will crank right onshore at pyramid (and bring in Portuguese Man o Wars). Light kona (south) winds will make this place epic in winter. Respect the crowd. Just because it's a military base doesn't mean you can just start taking every set, YOU WILL BE HASSLED! Show etiquette, don't backpaddle or burn anyone, know your limits, and you'll have a blast. Final note, North Beach and Pyramid have some of the clearest water on island. That being said, a lot of tigers are seen here, more so at pyramid. Not saying it's sharkier than anywhere else, just expect to see alot of sea life due to the clarity.
You have to get on base, then hang a left at the main intersection, cross the runway and follow the signs.
Military base. Access is restricted.
Head to north beach over in the main base housing. It's more consistent, usually better, and breaks year round due to tradeswell.
