The waves in porth niegl change all the time. They can be quite mushy some times but are great to ride. The largest I've seen is about 4' but I am sure they can get bigger. It is a great place for beginers but also posses some good riding for the more advanced. All in all, I love this beach!
Head toward abersoch and ask for directions at the local surf shops. It's very out of the way and I don't remember the names of the roads.
parking is free
Abersoch, west coast surf shop and offaxis offer great service and lessons as well as hire equipment.
