Ansedonia is located in Tuscany in the west coast of Italy. It The best time of year to surf is during the winter as the waves in the summer are quite flat. Wind speed is usually quite low at around 15kph and the swell is mainly from the west, however Mediterranean waters can pick up from the south.
Turn of the e80 (the main road) onto the road Via tella Tagliata. Carry on south until you reach the beach. The spot can be reached by swimming north west along the coast.
There are numerous hotels and places to stay including the Villa Fanale being the closest.
The waves can easily be accessed by swimming out from the beach. The parking availability is good, however, the main beach can sometimes get a bit crowded.
The closest big surf shop is the West Beach SURF SHOP di Gini Marco, which is 15 minutes away, however other shops in the town sell fins and other surfing gear.
The Tortuga Surf School is very close to the surfing spot, and is very good for teaching beginners.
During the summer, the waves are likely to be flat so its recommended for surfers to relax in the town of Ansedonia and have a look around, the people are very nice.
