Referred to by the locals as K Bay. Perhaps the best spot on the south coast in a good groundswell. The bay is split into three different waves, Ledges, the Bay and the Bench.
Ledges is the easiest of the three to surf. It's mostly a longboard wave, and it's quite a paddle out to the line up on a good swell. It breaks in deep water, so it's the best wave at Kimmeridge for beginners.
The Bay is really only for big conditions, and can produce some good long rides. Worth checking if Ledges if too big.
The Bench is shallow and powerful. It's a wave for experienced surfers, and does get nice and hollow. The best wave of the three, but not for the faint hearted.
All the waves work on a groundswell from the channel, and a light offshore northerly will give ideal conditions. It does get busy, so take care in the crowds. Look out for the rocks.
