One of the best, and most well known, surf spots in New Zealand. Stent Road is a popular spot and for good reason. The wave is a right hand point break, fast breaking over boulders providing a bowling first section, then long whackable wall.
The spot cops plenty of swell, but starts breaking a little wide over 5ft,holds maybe 8-10ft if conditions are right.
Is a little to easy to access which is why it's always crowded when it's on,make sure you mind your manners and you should be ok.
It's on Surf Highway 45 and is signposted from the road. A short drive from the main road.
Plenty of parking
