Ohope

A nice fast steady wave, not super hollow but steep enough to really rip on when it's good. The surf is usually cleaner and peels more consistently at the west end (left end of the beach if facing the ocean) as the bottom contours are more consistent there and it is right under a cliff that protects the swell from the wind-even when onshore!. A lot of the locals will drop in on you as a lot of them have not surfed elsewhere and therefor are not up to play with surf etiquette so just be tolerant and polite.
