"Big Dune" as it's known, has a track leading towards the beach which is 4wd accessible. the surf is not always perfect but on given days, on average 4 days a month, the surf will be cranking, along the same lines as a sunshine coast break or kuta beach on a good day. the left is usually more robust and can travel longer. the crocs can get big from sandy point just up the beach and localism is big here so stay away if your a tourist.
Crocs do turn up but are rare.
There is no localism. Everyone is chilled.
go on farnborough road to the bangalee exit and drive along that till you get to the beach. drive along the beach until you see a small track lining into the dunes or some branches standing up. if you see the national park sign you've gone too far.
7km + nth from the Bangalee beach access ramp. Nat parks sign (about 8k) and north at low tide. Big tides (4-5m) restrict beach access. There is a back track for big tides. Check Cap coast surfers facebook.
